As a proud single mother who raised six children in Minnesota, Mulki embodies resilience, determination, and the transformative power of education. Her personal journey fuels her commitment to improving K-12 education and ensuring every family has the tools to succeed. Driven by a deep belief in every child’s potential, Mulki’s leadership is grounded in her dedication to creating opportunities that help all students thrive. Our History

Somali Parent Academy was born from compassion, vision, and a deep commitment to community. Founded by passionate Somali leaders and professionals in Minnesota, SPA began as a lifeline for new immigrants—offering guidance, support, and hope. From education and healthcare access to translation, employment, and social support, our founders gave their time, expertise, and hearts to ensure every newcomer could not only survive—but truly belong and thrive.
